ROSE WHITE (2012)
Fantasy meets crime thriller. In a desperate attempt to protect her mentally-ill sister, a struggling young woman teams up with a small-time drug dealer to take down a ruthless crime boss.
Based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale "Snow-White and Rose-Red," Rose White pits dark reality against an even darker fantasy, in a world where there are no happy endings.
Written and directed by Daniel Kuhlman, shot by cinematographer Jeremy Kuhlman, and starring Deneen Melody and Erin Breen, Rose White screened at numerous festivals, including: Eerie Horror Fest, Chicago Underground (Audience Choice Award), and others.
"It is not the well-designed and at times noir-ish plotline that makes Rose White such an exceptional and memorable piece of film. What lingers is an overall sense of sadness and emotional involvement that ties the scenes together and makes each of them indispensable." - Screen / Read
"With the cinematography alone, Rose White is a work of art in motion - a poem animated, painting its metaphors vividly for all to see." - Space Jockey
